In 2000 AbaC Restaurant opened in its first location on Carrer del Rec in Barcelona. In May 2008, it moved to its present location at No. 1 on Avenida Tibidabo.
Gastronomy is the fundamental axis of the project. The restaurant, awarded 3 stars by the Michelin Guide and nominated as Best Restaurant in Catalonia 2011 by the Catalan Academy of Gastronomy, accommodates up to 56 guests. It is located in the newly built pavilion, in contact with the garden, where interior and exterior meet through the large windows.
The space is a whim of whites, in all its shades. Boasting an elegant, serene, neutral atmosphere, the sense of sophistication is reflected in the details and the materials used, as well as through the lighting.
The 200m2 kitchen was designed by Joaquim Casademont. It is a black container where the stainless steel furniture is at the limelight. The effect has been strengthened with the lighting: a tour marked with LEDs guides and allows guests to cross without interfering.
Further facilities include two dining rooms for private events –for 20 and 60 diners respectively–, the 'Lounge Bar' –where music, lighting and colour change automatically– open until 2.30am, and the wine cellar, with nearly 1000 labels.
A team of young professionals, with chef Jordi Cruz in front, develops a creative cuisine through a superb technique based on creativity and innovation, presented by an exceptional waiting service, makes AbaC holder of 3 Michelin stars.
Dishes: Smoked steak tartare, seasoned beef snow, cooked yolk, mustard veil and crispy pepper bread. Mediterranean tuna ventresca with ponzu macaroni, kumquat skin, mizuna, crispy artichoke and spicy roots puree.
