Founded as an eatery in 1929, Casa Ciriaco is one of the oldest and most emblematic restaurants in Madrid that from mid 20th century has been a meeting for celebrities of the world of culture.
The building dates from the 19th century -originally it was a wine warehouse- and the plaques on its façade recall different historical moments it has lived throughout its life such as the attack on king Alfonso XIII in 1906.
This traditional tavern the walls of which are covered with pictures of celebrities that have visited the place specializes in typical Madrid home cooking and, in fact, some say that their 'callos a la madrileña' (Madrid style tripe) are the best in the capital. On Tuesday the set lunch menu includes 'cocido madrileño' in two rounds.
