A few blocks from the Sarrià railroad station we can find the Bar Tomàs, a lifelong and modest but emblematic restaurant and well known by locals. It is famous for its tapas and its 'bravas' (fried potatoes with spicy sauce).
The main dishes are 'bravas', which somehow overshadow the rest of oily tapas. That doesn't mean they are not good but these 'bravas' are known to be sublime. Anyway it's a neighborhood bar, so even good, the dishes are mostly simple and unpretentious.
The place has a certain charm thanks to its simple and rugged look. It has tables, marble bar and terrace requested at street level. The service is not known as distinguished and detailed but it does its function. The famous 'bravas' and the economic price make this place to deserve at least one visit.
