More than 35 years ago, the German restaurant Fass opened, becoming in 1975 a benchmark restaurant of Madrid.
The Witthous family, who were its founders, have another larger stablishment in this capital, in the Arturo Soria Plaza. The restaurant and brewery has a rustic decor in a relaxed atmosphere that offers the best German cuisine.
The waiters wear the Bavarian costumes. They also have a German specialty store with a bakery, a deli and a butcher and a large terrace.
Dishes on the menu: assorted pâtés, sautéed mushrooma with garlic, fried camembert, grilled sausages with rösti, goulash soup, rice with vegetables and roasted nuts, garni choucroute with cooked hock, smoked salmon with spignel sauce, roast beef with tartar sauce and fried potatoes, Stroganoff sirloin with rice, herring in cream.
