A few years ago in front of the Doctor Fleming Gardens and behind the Boqueria we found Bar Iposa, a reference neighborhood bar in this area, but now it has been reopened thanks to chef Stefano Mazza, already owner of the Last Monkey and the Sant Antoni, with the name of Superclàssic . Together with this Italian chef we find Rocío Adán in the dining room and Alan Boulio in the kitchen.
It offers a new gastronomic proposal, which combines the typical Mediterranean tapas with the Italian touch of the chef. The set menu is not very extensive, although it is of quality, thanks to Mazza and Boulio, who buy a good part of the product at the Mercat de La Boqueria, and to the careful elaborations. Also to drink there are very well drafted beers and natural and organic wines.
Superclàssic has a large terrace and a casual and calm atmosphere inside, achieved with good music playing in the background. It is the ideal place to have some good tapas and a homemade vermouth in good company, in a classic interior or on a quiet terrace in the Raval on a sunny day.
Dishes: The Super Russian Salad. Fresh tuna tartare. The Great Bikini “Formatger”. Shrimp carpaccio with “garlic-lemon”. Anchovies, confit piquillo peppers and roasted garlic. Baked truffled camembert. Smoked salmon and cream cheese pizza. Porchetta, honey-mustard sauce, potato chip powder.
