Next to the mythical Bodega d'En Rafael and two steps from the Sant Antoni market we find the Maleducat restaurant, opened in June 2020. Its name comes from the affectionate insult that each of the founders was called: Victor Ródens in the kitchen, and the brothers Ignaci and Marc García in the room. And this trio is joined by Alejandro Icart, Jordi Cruz's ABaC sommelier.
At just 29 years old, chef Ródens has won a Cordon Bleu Madrid Haute Cuisine Promise award, a CETT scholarship and intense work in such interesting and varied cuisines as DiverXo, Via Veneto, Caelis or Marc Gascons' Informal.
Maleducat has several offers. On the one hand, we find vermouth with snacks and dishes with the best of each season, offering a short set menu but an extensive blackboard where there are six different suggestions every day. The technical, traditional and Mediterranean cuisine prepared by the chef has generous portions and excellent quality. The dishes that stand out the most are: rigatori stuffed with hare and anchovies with different combinations, apart from tapas such as croquettes or chicken salad a l'ast.
The style is retro with small tables and bench and black "chess" design floor. Plus, it boasts a fun, casual, boisterous and tasty tavern atmosphere. His goal is to turn the restaurant into your usual eating house where you can dip your bread.
Dishes: Codesa anchovy from Laredo. Iberian shoulder "Maldonado" 100% acorn-fed. Acorn-fed Iberian morrillo “Maldonado”. Thierry Fine de Claire oyster No. 2: (natural with lemon and pepper, with piparra gazpacho and herbs, marinated in roast chicken juice). Warm salad of Prat artichokes, Jerusalem artichoke cream. Duck ham and orange vinaigrette. Warm leeks, hazelnut vinaigrette. Pickled coquelet. Seasoned lentils. Fried eggs. Cow rib eye matured 40 days. Wood pigeon dry rice. Roasted “Bresse” squab.
